LAGOS STYLE WEEK 2011

Lagos style week is a fashion event aimed at providing a stage for new and independent designers in a real authentic African look. With the lack of financial inspiration in the Nigerian fashion scene, the progress of emerging fashion designers are extremely limited and most designers face lots of challenges in order to match the success and exposure of  high fashion designers in Europe and South Africa. Lagos Style Week will be linking Nigeria’s best emerging designers with today’s top fashion buyers.

The show will be taking place at The Incubator Victoria island Oniru Estate, on the 26th and 27th of November and will display the works (10 design pieces) from 5 established and 20 emerging designers. The event will take place on Saturday 3 PM – 9 PM and Sunday 5 PM – 10:30 PM. The tickets cost N5,000 for regular (dinner ticket) and N10,000 (get to test drive a Porsche car for a day)  and each ticket entitles you to the pre-party, back stage, red carpet access and lots more. Dress code is for Saturday is Casual Wear/ Sleek Fashion Wear, while for Sunday, Evening Wear.

On the 16th of Nov the LSW team organized a photo shoot for the designers showing at the LSW on the 27th of nov and since Hse of Nwocha will be showcasing, I thought to bring u all a sneak peak of the main event and back stage shots from the shoot. My model for this shoot was Aisha Shaba, she is an upcoming actress and is one to watchout for, she is currently on the Tinsel cast on M-net so watch out for her on Tv.
